Roger Power began his career in the financial services industry in 1994 with Midland Walwyn Capital Inc., the predecessor to Merrill Lynch Canada. Over the next 27 years, he advanced steadily in the retail financial services sector, serving as an Investment Advisor and spending eight years as an Investment Executive with ScotiaMcLeod.
He holds several distinguished professional designations, including Professional Financial Planner (PFP), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), Chartered Portfolio Manager (CPM), and Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI).
In 2008, Roger opened a brokerage office for a leading national securities firm and was appointed Branch Manager. Within five years, under his leadership, the St. John’s branch earned recognition as the most distinguished branch office in the country.
Since 2011, Roger has focused on providing financial oversight to small and medium-sized enterprises, effectively serving as a CFO-for-hire across a wide range of industries, including engineering consulting, financial services, environmental services, transportation, business equipment supply, construction, and healthcare.
Deeply committed to community service, Roger served as President of Easter Seals Newfoundland and Labrador for six years and as a board member for 11 years. Outside of his professional and volunteer commitments, he enjoys golf, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his family.
