Happily married for 28 years and has 4 beautiful children, and 5 grandchildren, 3 girls and 2 boys, born and raised in Sheshatshiu, Labrador. Speaks two languages: Innu Aimun and English. Graduated from Peenamin McKenzie School in Sheshatshiu, attended Saskatchewan Indian Federation College in Saskatchewan to further his education, and has done other important education initiatives. Currently has 2 siblings in the community and has a big extended family in both Sheshatshiu and Natuashish communities.
Sheshatshiu Innu First Nation member, former Chief of Sheshatshiu Innu First Nation, executive member of the Innu Nation, has been on the various boards of our Innu Organizations, trust member on various committees, Impact and Benefits committees and Resources negotiator, led negotiations for Sheshatshiu Innu First Nation against Federal and Provincial governments for accelerated capital and infrastructure funding and programming so it adequately meets our growing community needs, housing, clean water and sewer needs, and other important areas we needed to catch up on due to the fact that we are new in accessing Federal funding. But I am very pleased I was involved in negotiating our new school and our programming plus was involved in getting the school transfer to our community from the provincial governments. Under his leadership he had a vision of taking over control of all programs and services that was currently under the province. He was successful in taking them over when our community got full recognition of Federal status as Status Indians under the Indian Act.
Great journey and more great adventures to come for our children of Sheshatshiu. Nothing will stand in the way of our children. We will be there for them every step of the way.
